New Rescue Alert! We have a few new faces to introduce everyone to. We have been working on TNR for a colony of cats at a local business. The complex owner is a super nice guy and allows for the cats to be cared for on his property but also wants the population to be controlled. We decided to try and walk around the side of the property that we don't often frequent. We ended up finding two kittens that were so hungry they ran right up to us 💔 We were able to scoop them up and get them in a carrier. Both kittens have mange (which we have treated) and they have headed over to our foster. We named these little ones Wednesday and Pugsley. They are both males and available for preadoption 🤗 After getting the kittens we also met a nice adult male. He also had mange and was very skinny. He is currently with us recovering and is also available for preadoption. He is very sweet. We named him Gomez ❤️ Mercy was also rescued from this colony. There will be on update on him tomorrow ❤️ If you're interested in adopting any of these beautiful guys please fill out an application. Today we were out doing TNR when we were approached by an unhoused man. We explained to him what we were doing, the importance of TNR, and the danger to friendly cats living on the street. He decided to surrender his cat to us so that his cat could have a better life ❤️ Today a lot of shared love and compassion went towards offering this lucky cat a shot at a healthy indoor life. We have named him Mercy. Mercy will be at the vet tomorrow. We will keep everyone posted on his progress. Please consider becoming a monthly donor via PayPal or Patreon, your contribution will help help us continue to save more lives 🙏🏻 #cats #savinganimals #kittens #catrescue #catsoftiktok #tnr
Today was a hard day. Ripto, the sick kitty we caught while doing TNR, passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. We found out he had a lot more going on than met the eye. He was FIV+, had a terrible URI, an exposed bone on his foot, bad mouth ulcerations, was extremely malnourished, had a matted coat, bad fleas, elevated bloodwork, a broken ear, and was unfortunately too sick to survive. We are heartbroken that we didnt meet you sooner💔 We believe Ripto may be a relative of our feral girl Spyro, who looks just like him and was caught at the same location 3 years ago. Spyro was too sick to return after TNR and still currently resides with us. We have been doing TNR at this location for years, but never met Ripto. He was aged at around 8 years old and must have been a very savvy kitty surviving all those years. Rest in peace beautiful boy.
We received a beautiful hand draw piece of Santana art. We thought everyone would like to see it and of course Santana ❤️ It's been almost a year since we rescued you Tanny, but it feels like yesterday. We wish we would have had more time together, but are so grateful for the time we did share. You let us know it was your time and we listened. We've lost count on how many times we have cried for you.. You were such a special soul that left pawprints on the hearts of many. We miss you so much Tanny Boy. We have hung the new drawing of you in the living room so that we can see you everyday ❤️
Some inspiration for your Saturday 🤗 Here is a montage of the release days of some of our TNR Cats. TNR is still very misunderstood and we hope that our videos can help shed some light on the process. We first want to let everyone know that all of the cats that we TNR have designated caretakers. Meaning someone is providing them with food and water and will contact us if they have future health concerns. We live in a very urban area. We know a lot of people think that these feral cats are endangering birds. That is not an accurate assessment of San Bernardino. First, these cats have food and are not needing to hunt. Secondly, this is an extremely urban environment, we don't have endangered birds and if we did, it would be the humans moving into their environment that was a danger to them. Socializing all feral cats is not an attainable solution! Socializing one feral takes months and in that time countless other friendly adoptable cats can be rescued. Euthanasia as suggested by many cat haters is also not a solution. Removing feral cats from an area creates what is called the vacuum effect. If cats are thriving in the area removing the current population means that they will be replaced by new cats. These new cats will fight for territory and begin procreation again and again in an endless cycle. The best solution for controlling the population is having a fixed healthy population. The numbers will remain stable and the territory will remain controlled by the current population. Our goal is to spay and neuter 28 cats a month. That is 336 cats a year. Each of those 336 cats would help produce on average 12 kittens a year, that is 4032 kittens that will be prevented from being born on the streets just this year. New Rescue Alert! Another friendly cat was dumped at one of our colonies. This is the same colony that Marvel was dumped at with his bed. We don't know if these beautiful boys are related, or if our colony has just become a popular dumping ground for friendly cats. We named this newest boy DC. DC went to the vet and was neutered, vaccinated, and checked for a microchip (no chip found). He was SNAP tested and came back Negative for FIV and FeLV 🤗 DC is very loving, affectionate, and outgoing. He will make the perfect addition to any family. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application. Link in bio @catsofsanbernardino #savinglives #cats #kitten #catsoftiktok #taylorswift #tnrsaveslives
We were out doing TNR at the apartment building (beside where we rescued Pugsley and Wednesday) when we spotted a Mom and a kitten. We were able to catch both of them at the same time 🤗 Mom is feral and has two caretakers at the apartments. She went to vet and was spayed/vaccinated and re-released. The kitten was young enough that he can domesticated. We have named him Thing. He is the fluffiest most beautiful little man. Thing is available for adoption. To adopt this beautiful guy please fill out an adoption application, or meet him at our adoption event this weekend 🤗 #savinglives #tnrsaveslives #kitten #tnrsaveslives
It's vet Day Thursday! We have 6 kitties in today. Mercy is here to get neutered, a general wellness exam, and his skin check (he looks to have some mange). We have 2 new kittens that are friendly and will be available for adoption. They were caught along with another friendly adult where we were trapping yesterday. (Full rescue video of them coming soon). We got one feral yesterday who will be TNR'd And lastly we have Cyclops. The little maniac has been running around and getting crazy loosening his sutures. His eye will be getting looked at. If you would like to donate towards any of our vet bills please visit the link in our bio @catsofsanbernardino

How many kitties can you spot?
Marvel Update! Our beautiful boy has been running the gambit, getting a variety of tests done. Little man unfortunately has both FIV and FeLV. He has been suffering from watery diarrhea but his fecal test came back Negative (which is good). He was started on metronidazole which has helped solidify those poops 🙌 He had bloodwork done which came back relatively good 🤗 He had some slight elevations in his bilirubin and will be having an ultrasound on Tuesday to try and get to the bottom of that. We have seen some improvements. He is eating more, his energy levels have improved, and he is getting a more healthy pink color to his nose and gums 🤗 We will have a lot more updates to come on our cute little floor, stay tuned. #savinganimals #kitten #catsoftiktok #rescuedcat
Temperance Update! Temp is home and recovering from her amputation surgery. We took her fentanyl patch off yesterday and she was transitioned over to oral pain medication to go along with her steroids. We learned that Temperance is a very sweet and grateful girl. She was scared and in pain when we went out to rescue her but now that she is comfortable she's done a complete 180. She will be back at the vet on the 17th to have her sutures removed and make sure everything is healing correctly. We want to Thank everyone who has donated to vet bills and care making her rescue possible ❤️ #tripodcat #catrescue #kittens #savinganimals #cats
Thalia has been through so much. Although we are slowly gaining her trust, she still flinched on first touch. After we have her settled in, she relaxes and loves... we even got a tiny purr the other day. Slowly but surely, Thalia. We will never give up on you. We love you ❤️ She wanted to wish everyone goodnight 😴
Temperance made it through surgery and is recovering ❤️ We will be able to pick her up later today once Cyclops is done with his surgery. We will let everyone know once we get her home. Thank you to everyone who donated allowing her to receive the best care possible. Thank you to our Vet and team at Arrowview Animal Hospital for always taking good care of all of our rescues, you guys are amazing. #catrescue #tripodcat
Thalia is responding to treatment 🙌 Her eyes are making significant, visible, improvements ❤️ Hoping she won't need the eye surgery and can heal her eyes with the drops and oral meds🤞She doesn't need the stress of another surgery. She will be back at the specialist on the 23rd. We will continue to keep everyone up to date on her recovery.
